Victoria’s peak body for volunteers and volunteering today announced the appointment of Sue Noble as its new CEO.

Ms Noble joins Volunteering Victoria after more than three years as CEO of Softball Australia and a background in business development leadership with peak bodies in the legal and accounting professions.

“Sue brings significant experience with peak bodies with diverse membership and will bring a fresh new approach to Volunteering Victoria,” said Board President, Robyn Rose. “She was appointed after an exhaustive process which showed that interest in leading an organisation like ours is very strong.”

“On behalf of the Board I congratulate Sue on her appointment. We are confident her energy and expertise will give Volunteering Victoria continuing strong leadership in a changing political and economic landscape,” Ms Rose said.

Ms Noble, who also has a keen personal interest in volunteering and spent time volunteering at a wildlife park in Malawi earlier this year, said she was excited by the prospect of leading Volunteering Victoria.

“Volunteering is an essential part of our social fabric and it is alive and well in Victoria where more than 1.5 million people volunteer in a wide variety of ways, and places,” said Ms Noble.

“The challenge ahead is to ensure we continue to strengthen our voice for volunteers and work closely with volunteering organisations from all parts of our community to ensure we foster and enable the volunteering spirit to continue to thrive,” she said.

Ms Noble begins at Volunteering Victoria on Monday 23 July
