The BOOMNET report was commissioned by the WA government in 2001 and sought to examine the issues surrounding the first of the baby boomer generation reaching retirement. This is a comprehensive report with lots of substance.

This document is part two of the research project commissioned by the WA government to look at trends of volunteering particularly as they relate to the Babyboomers. It was produced in May 2002.

Report on the impact of petrol prices on volunteering (2005)

A survey of volunteers and not for profit organisations undertaken by Volunteering Australia in October 2005 showed that rising petrol prices was adversely impact on volunteering, with 84 per cent of all respondents believing that rising petrol prices presented a barrier to volunteering.

National Survey of Volunteering Issues 2006

The aims of the Volunteering Australia Annual National Survey of Volunteering Issues are twofold. 

The first aim is to gather detailed information about how both public policy issues and volunteer management practices are experienced by volunteers and not for profit organisations. The second is to provide an opportunity for volunteers and organisations to raise issues relating to volunteering that may be new or emerging.

Turn your organisation into a volunteer magnet

In late 2004, OzVPM Director Andy Fryar along with Fraser Dyer and Rob Jackson from the UK released an exciting e-book titled 'Turn your organisation into a volunteer magnet'. The e-book features articles from many 'on-the-ground' volunteer managers from Australia, the UK and USA as well as a few articles by better know authors such as Steve McCurley and Rick Lynch.

Vita Activa - Radio Series on Volunteering
Dr Melanie Oppenheimer is an Associate Professor within the School of Humanities & Languages at the University of Western Sydney and historian with a particular interest in volunteers.
