South Australian Office for Volunteers
The South Australian Office for Volunteers was the first Australian government office dedicated specifically to supporting and promoting volunteer participation (established 2000). South Australia also was the first state to have a Ministerial portfolio dedicated to volunteers, and the current Minister for Volunteers in SA is also the Premier, Mike Rann, the only know leader of any political party in the world to hold a volunteering portfolio.
