Peter Heyworth

Peter Heyworth is the Coordinator of Volunteer Services with The Royal Society for the Blind SA, Inc. An organisation providing a range of services to about 9500 blind and vision impaired people in South Australia .

Peter is currently President of the Australasian Association of Volunteer Administrators (AAVA), the first professional association for volunteer program managers in the Australasian region. Within this organisation he is involved in developing an accreditation program for volunteer program managers.

He is also an active participant in, and chairs a working party, within the Volunteer Ministerial Advisory Group, providing advice to the South Australian Government on issues relating to volunteering.

He was one of the first South Australian graduates in the Diploma of Volunteer Management and is a member of several Course Advisory Panels looking at the development of qualifications in volunteering and volunteer program management at both a State and National level.

Previously Peter was in Baptist Ministry, and before that a High School Science teacher and geologist in New South Wales .
