Happy
birthday to OzVPM and all who sail in her.
The
work Andy has done with OzVPM has been fantastic and
thanks to Andy for coming over to see us 18 months
ago and challenge us to set up our own body for Volunteer
Managers. It was the inspiration (kick-up the backside)
we needed!

Almost
on a daily basis I refer people in community and government
agencies to the best website I know for volunteer

often in my day to day work
Enjoy

Many happy returns to Andy and his friends at

Congratulations
Andy on your 5th birthday. I have enjoyed many benefits
over the past few years from being a member of the
OZVPM Message board. The information and support
that is provided by other members is to me priceless.
Information shared has helped me a great deal in
my current position as I work alone with the only
support coming from outside organisations etc.
I have had the great pleasure
of meeting you a few times and find you to be truly
inspirational.

Wow! Is
it 5 years already? Congratulations, Andy, on OzVPM's
pioneering effort to serve the volunteer community
of Australasia. More importantly, you have almost
single-handedly connected your part of the world with
all the rest of us out here! You demonstrate the
power of cyberspace to eliminate the barriers of time

building genuine relationships with colleagues you
touch virtually. Every good wish for continued and

Congratulations
OzVPM!
Hey,
Andy, congratulations on your fifth birthday! Your
accomplishments have been remarkable as Ozvpm has
grown into one of the most important resources on
volunteerism in the world. You should be proud of
what you're contributing to volunteerism and volunteer
program management not only in Australia , but internationally
as well.
I
took a peak at stages of childhood development and
here's what the experts say about 5-year-olds:
Five-year-olds
are cheerful, energetic, and enthusiastic. They
enjoy planning, and spend a great deal of time discussing
who will do what. They especially enjoy dramatic
play, usually with other children. Five-year-olds
are more sensitive to the needs and feelings of
others around them. It is less difficult for them
to wait for a turn or to share toys and material.
"Best friends" become very important.
National
Network For Childcare
http://www.nncc.org/Child.Dev/ages.stages.5y.phpl
So,
here's what we expect in the near future:
-
continued cheerfulness, energy and enthusiasm since
you've demonstrated those in abundance over all
of these last five years.
-
lots of new ideas and projects in collaboration
with your hundreds and hundreds of friends and collaborators
and supporters
-
continued responsiveness to the needs of managers
of volunteers and volunteerism in Australia and
beyond since you already do this so very well
-
even more great "stuff" to be shared with all of
us through OzVPM
Finally,
you've already got loads of "best friends" cause you're
such a great guy, and I'm delighted to be counted
among them.
All
best wishes for another five, and another five and
another ....

Happy
5th birthday to OzVPM. I know of no other website
in Australia that provides such pertinent information
for Volunteer Program Managers. OzVPM has been both
a friend and a guide for those of us in this profession
who aspire to keep abreast of current and changing
trends in volunteer management. Over the last 5 years
the monthly Hot Topic as well as the discussions on
the newsgroup has helped facilitate debate and engagement
within the sector. Time and again OzVPM has led the
way and has provided a forum for those within the
sector to have our say. Volunteer Management will
not advance in any meaningful direction unless ideas
and innovations come from within. OzVPM has demonstrated
its commitment to the sector with its dedicated allegiance
to International Volunteer Managers Appreciation Day,
the Australasian Retreat for Advanced Volunteer Management
and the fledgling Volunteer Administrator Award of
Excellence.
Thank
you OzVPM for keeping the flag flying for 5 years
and I am confident that the site will only get stronger,
more dynamic and will continue to move the sector
forward with the collaborative voices of those of
us who have a passion for our profession. Congratulations
on reaching this milestone!
